39 tonnes of “unwanted” items have been saved from going to landfill. Al Clark, Environment Officer at the University, has during the past year worked closely with the British Heart Foundation “Pack for Good” Campaign. Yesterday he and the University of St Andrews were announced Retail Partners of the year at the Heart Hero Awards.

“Working with the British Heart Foundation on the Pack for Good Campaign has been fantastic”
– Al Clark.

Making donations easier has been the key to success at the University. With 19 new BHF donation points, students and staff have been able to donate clothes, furniture and electronic equipment. 80,000 pounds have been raised for research on heart and circulatory disease. In addition, the donations make an important contribution to our environment.

“The team at the University has worked tirelessly to make it easier for students to donate”
– BHF

The British Heart Foundation and the University of St Andrews demonstrate how great partnership leads to several benefits. Actions for a good cause does not stay in a vacuum. Whether raising money for life saving research or donating items for reuse, the positive outcome of one strengthens the other. Together we work towards a better future.
