It’s nearly time for the Winter Shutdown
We would like to remind everyone to follow the Winter Shutdown guidance over the festive period, during which many of us are away from campus.
On campus, please ensure to:
- Switch off all computers, printers, and other IT equipment at the wall. Leave nothing on standby.
- Switch off all laboratory equipment.
- Switch off all outlets and lights in your office. Avoid leaving items on standby.
Across residences:
- Check all outlets are unplugged and lights are switched off while you are away.
- Turn down radiators to the lowest setting.
- Empty and switch off your fridge if you are away for a week or more.
In general:
- Donate unwanted items such as clothes and books to British Heart Foundation donation banks (located outside of Walter Bower House, academic school buildings, Students’ Association, Main Library, and halls of residence).
