Corrour/St Andrews partnership hosts community engagement event

Last week, our partners at Corrour hired the community hall in Spean Bridge and warmly invited local stakeholders to come and learn more about the exciting natural capital and research partnership with the University of St Andrews. The event also provided an opportunity for the community to contribute to the consultation on the design of the new research centre, set to be a hub for groundbreaking research at Corrour.
Representing the University of St Andrews were Dr Lydia Cole from the School of Geography and Sustainable Development, who shared insights into the innovative research being planned. Amanda Skinner from the communications team also attended, helping to provide information and engage with the community about the opportunities afforded by the collaboration.
We were thrilled to see such a fantastic level of engagement from local residents, community groups, primary and secondary schools—all eager to understand what this pioneering alliance could bring to the area in terms of both environmental and social benefits.
We were also pleased to distribute information about a new employment opportunity at the event — if you are interested in working as part of this partnership onsite at Corrour, please click on the following link for details of the role of Conservation Officer: Careers Centre
A huge thank you to Charlie Davis for producing some exceptional interpretation materials, which really brought to life Corrour’s important work on nature restoration and its collaborative relationship with the university.
And of course, delicious Corrour venison sausage rolls were a hit, keeping everyone well-fed and fuelled throughout the event!
