Annual Travel Survey Results
From 30 October to 15 November 2024, the University of St Andrews conducted travel surveys for all staff and students. These surveys have been conducted approximately every three years since 2002.
The travel surveys provide important information about staff and student travel behaviour and patterns as well as insights into how sustainable travel modes can be incorporated into the University’s Travel Plan.
In 2024, there was a large increase in staff and students use of the bus as a primary mode of travel. Compared to previous years, car sharing by staff decreased considerably. Cycling by staff and students also decreased compared to previous years.
